About

Who We Are

Our Mission

To support families who have lost a child through miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant death.

We are parents like those we serve who went into the hospital pregnant and left with a box instead of our precious baby. The exquisite agony of having to walk away from your baby, knowing it will be the last time you ever see or hold your child in this life, is one we are personally acquainted with. It is a devastation beyond imagination.

Our daughter, Lexi Scarlett, passed away at 26 weeks gestation and was born still in February 2022. Our beautiful girl arrived with every feature perfectly formed; she had her daddy’s hands and dark hair like her momma.

Now intimately aware of the world of pregnancy and infant loss, our family saw needs that our hearts felt called to meet. CARRY YOU is Lexi’s legacy—it is her mission on Earth that we strive to fulfill for her by proxy. Helping bereaved families like ours allows us to channel all the energy we have for loving and caring for Lexi into the cause that she chose for us.

Our Name

Carry, as a verb, most often means to bear or support, sometimes in the context of transporting or moving.

As mothers, we literally carry our babies throughout pregnancy, and after they are gone home to Heaven, as families, we continue to carry them in our hearts for the rest of our lives.

The friends, family, professionals, and volunteers who meet us in the pain of our loss are like earthly angels who help support us as we travel through our own personal Gethsemane. At CARRY YOU, we aspire to be part of your angel army, doing some little bit to bear you up during this unimaginable tribulation.

And most significantly, we chose this name because we offer our firm testimony that Christ will carry you through this. He doesn’t spare us from our trials because that would contradict the entire purpose for our mortal journey; but He will walk with us, even carry us when necessary, if we let Him. We trust whole-heartedly in Christ’s promise to carry us now while our hearts our broken and, through the power of His Atonement, to eventually restore our babies to us when we can carry them in our arms again, this time never to be separated.

I Will Carry You by Selah

Todd Smith of the Christian group Selah and his wife, Angie, were pregnant with their fourth daughter, Audrey, when they were told that Audrey would not be able to survive outside the womb.  This song was written for her.

Coincidentally, we had not heard this song when the name CARRY YOU was placed on our hearts. But as we prayed for confirmation that this was the name Lexi and God intended for this ministry, we found this song and it spoke so much of what we felt. We hope it touches your heart too.
